Senior Alex Foster recorded back-to-back double-doubles in
helping the No. 15-ranked Emory basketball team to a pair of
season-opening wins.
The 6-foot-8 Foster torched Oglethorpe for a career-high 38
points, the third-highest individual game mark in school history,
and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds in pacing the Eagles to a
104-77 victory. He knocked down 15-of-23 from the floor,
including four treys in nine attempts, and four-of-five from the
charity stripe. He followed that performance with a
team-leading 23 points, 16 coming in the second half, and a
game-high 14 rebounds in a 77-75 decision over Guilford.
Against the Quakers, he converted nine-of-18 field goals,
including four-of-six from beyond the arc, en route to registering
his sixth career contest of 20 or more points. His
"double-double" against Guilford represented the fifth of his
career.
Over the two games, Foster shot 58.5 percent (24-of-41) from the
floor and was successful on 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from three-point
range.
