Senior Alex Foster came through with his second straight and
sixth double-double of the season in helping the No. 6-ranked Emory
men's basketball team open University Athletic Association play
with a victory at Rochester.
The 6-foot-8 Foster totaled game-highs with 34 points and 13
rebounds in leading the Eagles to an 84-69 decision over the
Yellowjackets, raising the team's overall record to 11-1.
Foster, who rang up 26 second-half points in helping Emory to a
46-32 scoring advantage, finished out the game sinking a
career-high tying 15-of-28 from the floor, including four-of-eight
from three-point range, en route to his 12th double-figure scoring
performance of the year, his 10th or 20 or more points and third of
30-plus points. His field goal total tied the fourth-highest
individual game total in program history. It was the 11th time this
year that he had either led or shared for team scoring honors.
His rebound total in the Rochester game was his sixth
double-figure outing of the campaign and the eighth time he paced
the squad in that department.
Through games played Jan. 10, Foster tops the UAA in scoring with a
24.6 per-game scoring average and is eighth in both field goal
percentage (.500, 107-of-214) and three-point percentage (.425,
37-of-87).
