Senior Alex Foster paced Emory in scoring and was second in
rebounding in helping the men's basketball squad to a pair of key
UAA victories.
Foster averaged 22.5 points and was second on the team in
rebounding (7.0 rpg) as the Eagles defeated No. 14 Washington
University and the University of Chicago. In the two
contests, Foster connected on 53.6 percent from the floor
(15-of-28), including 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from beyond the arc,
and converted 10-of-11 from the charity stripe.
Foster ranked second on the team with 18 points, all of which came
in the second half, and grabbed seven boards in a 93-87 decision
over WU. He closed out the weekend with a team-high 27 points
(another 18-point 2nd half) in an 85-82 triumph over Chicago,
knocking down nine-of-15 field goal opportunities, including three
triples in five tries, while sinking all six of his free throws.
His efforts vs. the Maroons represented his 20th
double-figure scoring performance of the season and 12th of 20 or
more points.
Foster's efforts helped Emory raise its overall record to 17-5 and
allowed the Eagles to move into a tie for first place in the league
with a 7-4 slate. His 461 points this year ranks as the No. 8
mark on the program's seasonal chart while his 994 career
