Junior Jonathan Terry paced the Emory men's basketball scoring attack in helping the Eagles to a pair of home UAA victories.
Terry averaged 18.5 points and shot 53.8 percent (14 of 26) from the field, including 50 percent (8 of 16) from three-point range in Emory's wins over Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve that raised its overall record to 11-5, 4-1 in league action. In addition, he averaged 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest.
Terry totaled a career-high 24 points (17 coming in the second half) and grabbed seven rebounds in a down-to-the wire 86-82 triumph over Case Western. His final points of the contest came on a three pointer with 26 seconds remaining that erased a one-point CWRU lead and gave the Eagles an 84-82 edge. He connected on nine-of-14 from the field, including a career-high tying five triples in eight opportunities. His 17-point explosion over the final 20 minutes of action tied the high-water mark by an Emory player this season for most points in a half.
He opened the weekend as the squad's No. 2 scorer, chalking up 13 points in a 75-61 decision over Carnegie Mellon. He converted five-of-12 from the floor and drained three treys against the Tartans.
Terry, a double-figure scorer on 10 occasions this year, ranks third on the team in scoring with an 11.6 per-game average. He is tied for the team's rebounding lead (5.8 rpg) and has a team-high 32 three-point field goals.
