Will Trawick

Will Trawick

Senior Will Trawick led the Emory men's basketball team in both scoring and rebounding as the Eagles came away with a pair of UAA road wins.

Trawick averaged 24.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in victories at No. 11-ranked Chicago and Washington University, just the second time in school history that an Emory team had recorded a sweep of the "Midwest Weekend."  In addition, Trawick connected on 60.7 percent (17 of 28) of his field goal attempts and 85.7 percent (12 of 14) from the charity stripe in helping the Eagles boost their overall record to 13-5, while moving them into sole possession of first place in the league with a 6-1 slate.

In a 69-63 triumph over Chicago, Trawick led all scorers with 25 points, 19 coming in the first half, ending the contest sinking a career-high tying 10 field goals in 15 attempts, including three treys in six tries, as well as both his free throw opportunities.  Trawick knocked down his first seven field goal attempts and ended the half eight-of-11 from the floor, which included a triple with three seconds left in the first half that gave Emory a 38-29 edge going into halftime.  In addition, he led the squad in rebounding for the fifth time this year when he finished with seven rebounds.

He followed that performance with a game-leading 24 points in the team's 82-73 triumph vs. Washington University.  He was successful on seven-of-13 field goal attempts vs. the Bears and drained a career-high 10 free throws in 12 tries.  Trawick notched 15 second-half points against the Bears  en route to registering his 14th double-figure scoring performance of the year and fifth of 20 or more points.

Through games played Jan. 31, Trawick leads the team and stands eighth among UAA players in overall scoring average (15.2 ppg) while his 17.3 per-game effort in conference plays is good for a second-place tie on the league ladder.
