The 2019-20 Emory men's basketball team has been named a recipient of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) eighth annual Team Academic Excellence Award.
The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season.
The Eagles had nine players land spots on the NABC Honors Court, recognizing men's collegiate student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. Emory's nine members on Honors Court were second most among University Athletic Association programs.
Emory finished the year with an overall record of 22-5. The Eagles co-tied for the UAA title with a ledger of 11-3, and made their eighth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
- Academically a junior or senior varsity player
- Cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of '19-20 academic year
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution
- Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II program with NABC member coach.
