Emory’s Price & Rosen Claim Conference Honors

Emory’s Price & Rosen Claim Conference Honors

Emory University sophomore forward Dylan Price was named the University Athletic Association's (UAA) Offensive Athlete of the Week for Men's Soccer, while sophomore center back Noah Rosen claimed the league's defensive honor, after the pair led the Eagles to a 5-0 win at Birmingham-Southern College on Thursday, and a 4-0 win over Millsaps College on Saturday.

Price scored four goals in the two Emory games last week, including the first three goals for the Eagles in their win at Birmingham-Southern.  It was the first hat trick of his collegiate career, and the 37th in the program's history, marking his second multiple-goal game of the season, and the third of his career.  Price struck again on Saturday, scoring the game-winning goal in the 14th minute of the Eagles' win over Millsaps.  The forward has scored the game-winning goal in each of Emory's wins this season, and his four game-winning goals are the most by a UAA player this season.  He also ranks third in the conference in both goals (seven) and points (15) this season.

Meanwhile, Rosen anchored the Emory defense during the weekend, playing all 180 minutes of the two shutouts and limiting opponents to a combined five shots on goal, and 13 total shots.  During the win at Birmingham-Southern, he helped hold the Panthers to just seven shots, only three of which were on goal.  Rosen followed that performance by helping the Eagles keep the Majors without a shot in the first half on Saturday, and to just six shots for the game, only two of which were on goal.  Rosen has played in eight games this season, making six starts, and has been a key member of a defense that has recorded a 1.18 goals-against average and three shutouts.

This was the first career conference athlete of the week honor for both Price and Rosen.

The duo has helped the team to a 4-4-1 record this season.  Emory will be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Sewanee, Tennessee for a 7:00 PM ET matchup against the University of the South, in the Eagles' final game before the start of UAA competition next weekend.

The following Eagles have been named 2012 UAA Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week:

September 24th: Dylan Price (Offense), Noah Rosen (Defense)
