Senior (2004-05):

Groth, a senior, earned an all-conference honor this season as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished third at the conference championships. Groth's times at the University of Georgia Fall Invitational in the 200-yard freestyle were the two fastest on the team this season.

Junior (2003-04):

Groth, a junior, received All-America recognition for the second consecutive year as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay at the national championships. Groth recorded the third-fastest time on the team this season in the 200-yard freestyle. Groth is the eighth-fastest individual in that event in school history.

Sophomore (2002-03):

The sophomore earned his first All-America honor as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished fifth at the NCAA national meet. Groth attained NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. He was twice selected as the Emory Athlete of the Week. Groth's time of 1:43.46 in the 200-yard freestyle at the UAA championships ranks him as the eighth-fastest individual in the Emory record book for that event.
