Freshman (2007-08):

Gagen was one of the top Emory performers in the breaststroke throughout his freshman campaign.  He finished the season as the fifth-best performer in the 100-yard breaststroke, and the sixth-best performer in the 200-yard breaststroke.  Gagen scored 76.25 points in meets throughout the season for the Eagles.

Attended Westlake High school where he lettered for four years on the swimming team, and served as the team captain during his senior season... Was a NISCA All-American, an Academic All-American and an All-State swimmer in 2007... Silver medalist in the 200 medley relay at the Texas State Championship... Member of the 2006 Texas High School Championship team... Was coached by Isaac Grombacher in high school, and by Randy Reese on his club team.
