Emory University senior Kevin Yamada was named
the Men's Swimmer of the Week by the University Athletic
Association (UAA), based on his performance during the
fourth-ranked Eagles' dual-meet victory over the Division I College
of Charleston.
Yamada recorded three top-two finishes and a NCAA
‘B' cut time during the dual meet. He finished second
in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke
recording an NCAA ‘B' cut time of 58.26 seconds in the
former, and a mark of 2:09.23 in the latter. The senior also
led the Eagles' 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish
with a time of 1:36.31.
Yamada scored 10.75 points for the Eagles, helping the team to a
181.5-112.5 win over the Cougars.
This is the second time this season that Yamada has earned UAA
Athlete of the Week honors.
