Emory’s Kevin Yamada Named the UAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Emory University senior Kevin Yamada was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week by the University Athletic Association (UAA), based on his performance during the fourth-ranked Eagles' dual-meet victory over the Division I College of Charleston.

Yamada recorded three top-two finishes and a NCAA ‘B' cut time during the dual meet.  He finished second in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke recording an NCAA ‘B' cut time of 58.26 seconds in the former, and a mark of 2:09.23 in the latter.  The senior also led the Eagles' 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish with a time of 1:36.31.

Yamada scored 10.75 points for the Eagles, helping the team to a 181.5-112.5 win over the Cougars.

This is the second time this season that Yamada has earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors.
