Emory Swimming & Diving to Face Auburn in its Final Dual Meet of the Season

Emory Swimming & Diving to Face Auburn in its Final Dual Meet of the Season

The Emory University swimming and diving team will wrap up the dual meet portion of its 2009-10 season on Saturday, as the Eagles will travel to Alabama to face Division I Auburn University.

This will be the Eagles final tune-up before the start of the championship season, beginning with the University Athletic Association Championships on Wednesday, February 17th.  The Emory men, ranked fourth in Division III, are 5-3 on the campaign, following their loss to Georgia Tech last weekend.  The Eagles' top-ranked women, who also lost to Georgia Tech on Saturday, will enter the meet with a 6-3 record.

The Auburn men are ranked fifth among Division I schools, and will enter the meet with a record of 4-2 during the campaign.  The Tigers' women are ranked eighth in the nation, and are 3-4 for the season.  This will be the final dual meet of the season for Auburn as well.

This will be just the third meeting between the squads, with Auburn taking the previous two matchups on both the men's and women's sides.  However, the teams have not faced each other since the 1992 campaign.

Saturday's meet is slated for an 11:00 AM start, and live results will be available for fans wishing to follow the action from home.
