Emory University was represented by its divers at the Georgia
Tech Invitational this weekend, giving the squad a chance to face
off against some of the top NCAA Division I competitors.
In the men’s one-meter dive, sophomore Kolin
Smialek paced the Eagles with a score of 213.95 to finish
21st overall. Also competing in the event for
Emory were junior Daniel Kolb (24th
place, 208.10), freshman Sam Bobo (29th
place, 167.15), junior Patrick Brady
(30th place, 153.80 points) and sophomore Ben
Lee (31st place, 135.40). In the
three-meter dive, Kolb was Emory’s top finisher, placing
19th with a score of 257.60, while Bobo finished
28th with a score of 159.90.
On the women’s side, freshman Sarah Greene
was Emory’s top finisher in both dives, coming in
27th in the three-meter dive with a score of 201.40 and
28th in the one-meter dive with a score of 196.40.
Also placing for the Emory women was freshman Annabel
Enquist, who came in 32nd in the three-meter
dive (179.55 points) and 35th in the one-meter dive
(165.35 points).
Emory’s swimmers will return to action for their final meet
of the 2010 calendar year on Thursday, December 2nd, as
the Eagles will head to Oxford, OH for the Miami University
Invitational.
