Emory University sophomore Ryan Bass turned in a pair of NCAA ‘B’ cut performances during the Eagles’ dual meet against the University of Alabama on Saturday. Bass finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time 20.63 seconds, good for a NCAA provisional qualifying time. Later in the meet, Bass swam the first leg of the Eagles’ 200-yard freestyle relay, which finished won the event with a ‘B’ cut time of 1:23.08. Bass also finished third as part of Emory’s 200-yard medley relay team, swimming the freestyle leg and helping the squad to a time of 1:33.88. Bass and the Eagles fell to Alabama at the meet, as the team’s record dropped to 0-2 on the season.
