Prior to Emory:

Swam for Bellaire High School for three years... Second team all-state in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2010... Earned all-region honors in the 200-yard individual medley... Helped his team place fifth at regionals... Swam career-best times of 1:57.81 in the 200-yard individual medley, 54.77 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, and 1:01.97 in the 100-yard breaststroke... Was a Junior National Qualifier in 2010, and a Sectional Qualifier in 2009 and 2010... Coached by Kris Wingenroth in high school, and by Gilbert Legaspi on his club team... Also played baseball in high school.

Personal:

Born May 19, 1992... Brother plays baseball and swims at Miami University (Ohio)... Was an academic all-American in high school.

Why he chose Emory:

"I chose Emory because it was a perfect fit for me both academically and athletically.  As soon as I visited, I knew I wanted to come to Emory for the next four years.
