Competing at the Woodruff P.E. Center for the first time in almost a month, the Emory University swimmers totaled 12 NCAA 'B' cut times and nine first-place finishes at the Emory Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

Facing some of the top club teams in the Atlanta area, the Emory men totaled 1,324 points, while the women scored 1,198.5 points, each claiming a first-place finish in the team standings.

Sophomore Sadie Nennig earned a pair of 'B' cut times for the Eagles, winning the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.60, and finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke in a mark of 57.38 seconds.  Other 'B' cut performances for the Emory women came from freshman Michelle York (4:34.26, fourth place) and sophomore Brooke Woodward (4:34.38, fifth place) in the 400 IM, McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg in the 1,650 free (17:37.46, third place), and York in the 200 fly (2:08.14, third place).  In addition, the Eagles' 400-yard freestyle relay team of junior Ann Wolber, senior Whitley Taylor, junior Anna Dobben and senior Claire Pavlak won the event with a 'B' cut time of 3:30.75.

On the men's side, sophomore Ross Spock turned in a strong day, which included a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a 'B' cut time of 51.51 seconds.  Spock added on four other first-place finishes, including an individual win in the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.05), and relay wins with junior Richard Upton, sophomore Ryan Bass, and sophomore Jake Stephens in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:24.77), junior Peter O'Brien, junior Stephen Czaja and Bass in the 200-yard medley relay (1:34.76), and senior Jared Dubnow, Stephens and freshman Andrew Dillinger in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:09.73).

O'Brien also finished the meet with a pair of 'B' cut times, winning the 200 Breast with a time of 2:05.89, and finishing third in the 400 IM (4:07.26).  Senior Patrick Augustyn (1:53.85 and first-place in the 200 Fly) and Stephens (4:05.25 and second-place in the 400 IM) each had 'B' cut times as well during the meet, while senior Paul Weinstein won the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:41.95.

Emory will resume its dual meet schedule later this week, traveling to Athens, GA on Wednesday, November 16^th to face the University of Georgia at 5:00 PM.
