Andrew Wilson

Emory University freshman Andrew Wilson was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Rookie of the Year, after winning two individual events and two relays, in addition to setting four conference records and three pool records at the 2013 UAA Championships in Chicago, Illinois.  Wilson won the conference title in the 200-yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:02.51 in the preliminaries, as the time set pool and UAA records in addition to being good for an NCAA ‘A’ cut time.  He completed the sweep of the breaststroke events with a winning time of 56.25 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke, also a pool- and conference-best mark.  The freshman swam the breaststroke leg on both of the Eagles’ UAA-record setting medley relays, leading the 400-yard medley relay to a win with a time of 3:20.51, and the 200-yard medley relay to a victory in a time of 1:30.92 (a pool record).  Wilson scored in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing fifth with a time of 1:53.34.  He totaled 121 of the Eagles’ 1,818.5 points at the meet, helping the squad to its 15th-consecutive UAA Championship.
