Emory Swimming & Diving Gears Up for Meets at Miami & GA Tech

Emory Swimming & Diving Gears Up for Meets at Miami & GA Tech

The Emory University swimming and diving team will wrap up the 2012 portion of its season schedule this weekend, as the Eagles will face Division I competition at both the Miami (Ohio) Invitational and the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.

The Miami Invitational, hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, will be held from Thursday, November 29th – Saturday, December 1st.  There will be a 6:00 PM session on Thursday night, followed by daily 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM sessions on Friday and Saturday.  The Eagles, who are annual participants at the Miami Invitational, typically produce some of their fastest times of the season at the meet.

Emory will also send a contingent of athletes to the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational, which will be held from Friday, November 30th – Sunday, December 2nd.  Sessions will begin at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Sunday.

The Emory women are currently ranked third in the latest Endless Pools NCAA Division III Top-25 Poll, while the men are ranked fifth.  However, with the polls based on performances during the season, and many Eagles tapering for this weekend's meets, both squads are likely to climb in the rankings after the Miami Invitational and Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.

Live results links for both meets will be posted to the swimming and diving schedule pages on EmoryAthletics.com later in the week.
