Swimming & Diving to Return to Action against D-II Tampa

After a month-long hiatus from competition for winter break, the Emory University swimming and diving team will be back in action this week, traveling to the University of Tampa for a dual-meet matchup on Thursday, January 10th at 3:00 PM against the Division II Spartans.

The meet will mark the conclusion of a week of training in Florida for the Eagles, who will begin the second half of their season with an eye on the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in February, and the NCAA Championships in March.  Thursday's contest will be one of three dual meets remaining on the Eagles' 2012-13 schedule.

Emory's men's squad will enter the meet with a 0-4 mark in dual meets this season, while Tampa is ranked ninth in the latest CSCAA Division II rankings with a 2-3 record.  The Emory men are 11-6 all-time in dual meets against Tampa, including a 170-92 win last season, and have won three-straight against the Spartans.

Emory's women finished the first half of the season with a 2-2 record in dual meets, while the Spartans stand at 5-1, and were ranked 10th in the CSCAA Division II poll.  The Emory women have won seven-straight meetings with the Spartans, including a 177-83 victory last season.  The Eagles are 12-5 all-time against Tampa.

Thursday's meet will be held at the University of Tampa Aquatics Center.  Fans unable to attend can follow the action with a live video webcast at http://tampaspartans.tv/swimming/.
