Emory Swimming & Diving to Host SCAD for Senior Day on Saturday

The Emory University swimming and diving team will host the Savannah College of Art and Design for a dual meet on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 PM.  The meet will be the second and final home meet of the season for the Eagles, and the team will honor its graduating members with a special 'Senior Day' ceremony prior to the start of competition.

Emory's senior class this season includes nine men and 10 women – Justin Beegle, Stephen Czaja, Anna Dobben, Miller Douglas, Theresa Gallagher, Leslie Hackler, Brett Kinsey, Ben Lee, Taryn Lushinsky, Mia Michalak, Stephanie Molchan, Samantha Neumann, Peter O'Brien, Renee Rosenkranz, Jacqueline Schneider, Jeff Simpson, Kolin Smialek, Richard Upton, and Ann Wolber.  The group has combined for 47 All-America certificates during their collegiate careers.

Emory's men will be looking for their first dual meet victory of the season, as the team will begin Saturday with a 0-5 mark, with each of the losses coming against higher-division NCAA opponents, including a narrow 133-129 loss to the Division II University of Tampa last Thursday.  The Bees are 1-4 on the year, following a 164-95 loss to the College of Charleston last week.  Last year, the Eagles claimed a 112-84 win at SCAD to improve to 7-0 all-time in the matchup.

The Emory women will enter the meet with a 3-2 overall record in dual meets this season, following the squad's victory over the Tampa.  The SCAD women are 2-5 this season, including a 216-73 loss to the College of Charleston last Saturday.  Emory is 7-0 all-time against SCAD, including a 138-61 win last season.

Saturday's meet and Senior Day ceremony will be held at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center inside the Woodruff Physical Education Center.  Fans unable to attend can follow the action with a live video webcast at http://go.emory.edu/Webcasts/SwimWebcast.html.  In order to view the webcast, you will need to have RealPlayer installed on your computer, which can be downloaded for free from real.com.
