Andrew Wilson

Emory University junior Andrew Wilson was named the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimmer of the Year, after winning three National Championships, each in a Division III record time, at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Shenandoah, Texas last week.  Wilson became the first Emory men’s swimmer to win three National Championships at one meet, finishing first and setting new Division III records in the 200-yard individual medley (1:46.23), 100-yard breaststroke (51.72 seconds), and 200-yard breaststroke (1:52.97).   His time in the 100-yard breaststroke was the ninth-fastest ever by an American in the event (short course yards), while his 200-yard breaststroke time ranks him 13th in the world.  Wilson also set school records and recorded second-place finishes as the breaststroke leg of Emory’s 200-yard medley relay (1:27.96) and 400-yard medley relay (3:13.55) teams.  For his career, the junior has amassed five National Championships and 12 All-America certificates.  Wilson scored 77 points for the Eagles at the NCAA Championships, helping lead the team to a fourth-place finish.
