Junior swimmer Christian Baker won the "D" Final in the 400 LC Meter Freestyle event at the Arena Pro Swim Series held in Minneapolis, MN at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota.
The "D" Final was a thrilling race as the top seven swimmers all finished less than a second a part with Baker taking the top spot with a time of 4:03.69. He edged out the second place finisher by just .16. Baker was holding in the third position for the majority of the race before making his move in the final 50.
The Farragut, TN native reached the finals by placing 32nd in Friday morning's preliminaries with a time of 4:05.61. The top 32 swimmers from the prelims compete in the finals.
Both of Baker's times on Friday qualified him for the Winter Junior Championships and should he qualify for the Championships, they will be held from December 9-12 in Austin, TX.
