Several Eagle divers represented Emory University at the 16th Annual Sewanee University Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Friday afternoon.
Freshman Trevor Burke claimed the top spot in both the men's 1-meter, 6-dives and 3-meter, 6-dives. Burke posted a score of 267.55 to edge out Birmingham-Southern's Chaz Brouillette who scored 265.45 points. In the 3-meter event, Burke recorded a score of 281.05, besting Brouillette who place second with a score of 236.15.
In the women's events, sophomore Avery Botansky finished second in the 1-meter (209.75) with freshman Madeline Lutwyche coming in third at 199.65. In the 3-meter event, Lutwyche placed second with a score of 220.80 with Botansky finishing third with 194.70 points.
The Eagles return to action this Saturday, November 5th with a dual meet against Savannah College of Arts and Design. The meet is set to begin at 2:00 pm at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center.
