Swimming & Diving Sees 59 Named as CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

The Emory University swimming & diving teams saw 59 athletes honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their athletic and academic efforts during the 2021-22 season, including 29 who were named to the Scholar All-America First Team.

The Emory men had 15 selected to the Scholar All-America First Team, the second-highest total in the NCAA behind Johns Hopkins's 16. For the women, they had 14 tabbed to the Scholar All-America First Team, tied for the third-most among all collegiate programs.

Earning First Team recognition for the Emory men were Lucas Bumgarner, Sean Byman, Adam Copses, Logan D'Amore, Jeff Echols, Ryan Gibbons, Nicholas Goudie, Jason Hamilton, Jake Meyer, Will O'Daffer, Pat Pema, Alexander Pollack, Lawrence Redmond, Crow Thorsen and Dylan Yin.

For the women, the First Team selections were Fiona Arwood, Cailen Chinn, Allie Dixon, Sloane Donovan, Clio Hancock, Penelope Helm, Samantha Kass, Ariana Khan, Tess Klugherz, Taylor Leone, Caroline Maki, Savannah Sowards, Josie Uerling and Zoe Walker.

The Second Team selections included Jason Amato, Adam Braunschweig, Jeffrey de Groot, Alex Feldman, Calvin Furbee, Willem Goedecke, Anderson Holcomb, Will Kerscher, Kory Kimura, Steven Kuhn, Nolan Lahmann, Zach Lorson, Cooper Muench, Tyler Russell, Davis Shelton, Liyang Sun, Jack Wessell, Daniel Woodruff and Alex York for the men while the women's Second Team honorees were Marianne Allard, Sarah Daly, Mollie Folk, Rose Gaudiani, Anna Glowniak, Alison Kaiser, Leaya Ma, Maddie Palatt, Holly Robinson, Sydney Walker and Caroline Zhu.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship.  Second-Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
