Senior Colin Egan, the No.29-ranked singles
player in Division III, went 2-0 in both singles and doubles last
week in helping the No. 3-ranked Eagles to a pair of victories over
nationally ranked opponents. Playing the No. 3 singles post,
Egan defeated Andy Hersh of Johns Hopkins, 6-3, 7-6 after recording
an 8-3 triumph with teammate Dillon Pottish at No. 3 doubles.
Egan’s effort helped Emory to a 6-3 decision over the No. 13
Johns Hopkins squad. Egan followed that effort with a 6-4,
6-2 win over Troy Brinker of Chicago in singles action, raising his
spring record to 14-1, and earlier joined forces with Pottish for
an 8-1 verdict over the UC tandem of Krishna Ravella and Harrison
Abrams. The Eagles registered a 7-2 win over the No. 16
Maroons.
