Senior Dillon Pottish captured his third
straight ITA Regional singles championship over the weekend,
topping the 64-player field with six victories. Pottish
defeated Brian Brandt of Birmingham Southern and David Bastain of
Millsaps in his opening two matches before topping sophomore
teammate Nick Szcurek and Robert Kjellberg of North Carolina
Wesleyan in the third round and quarterfinals, respectively.
On the final day of action, he defeated a pair of teammates en
route to becoming the first player in school history to win three
consecutive ITA Regional singles titles. In the semifinals,
Pottish, the No. 2 seed in the tourney, topped freshman Eric
Halpren, 6-2, 6-2, before registering a 6-3, 6-0 verdict over
senior and defending NCAA D-III singles champ Chris
Goodwin.
By virtue of his performance, Pottish claims All-America status for
the 2011-12 season and will now advance to the ITA National Small
