The No. 1-ranked Emory men's tennis team raised its win streak to 10 matches following a pair of Sunday wins. The Eagles recorded 9-0 triumphs over Millsaps College and Centre College, raising their spring record to 11-2.
Senior Rafe Mosetick and junior Josh Goodman were the lone Eagles to play singles in both matches with Mosetick winning at the No. 1 spot over Diego Marti-Vertiz of Millsaps, 6-4, 6-1, and Logan Henize of Centre, 6-0, 6-0. Mosetick also notched a win at doubles, teaming with freshman Jonathan Jemison for an 8-0 verdict over the Millsaps duo of Josh Shearin and Cooper Cearly, boosting their spring slate to 9-2. Goodman opened the day with a 6-0, 6-1 outcome over Shearin at five singles before moving up to No. 2 in the Centre contest where he topped Luke Brooks, 6-3, 6-1. Goodman's overall singles mark is now 14-7.
Emory's No. 1 doubles team of sophomore Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding took to the court in both matches, registering an 8-3 triumph over the Millsaps tandem before finishing their day by besting Centre's Benjamin Hadlock and Luke Brooks.
Emory returns to action on Wednesday (March 23) when it hosts No. 38-ranked Kalamazoo College starting at 2:00 pm.
