Emory Men's Tennis Battles Pair Of Nationally Ranked Opponents

The No. 1-ranked Emory men's tennis team ventures to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to take on a pair of nationally ranked foes.  On Friday (Apr. 15), the Eagles clash with Johns Hopkins University on the campus of the University of Mary Washington in a 5:00 pm start.  The following morning, Emory will match up against host Mary Washington in a contest slated to start at 10:30 am.

Emory posts a dual record of 14-3 and is undefeated in Division III action, winning all 12 of its encounters.  The Eagles are coming off a 9-0 win over Oglethorpe University on Tuesday, raising their home record to 8-2.  Senior Rafe Mosetick has compiled a 10-5 effort at No. 1 singles this spring (18-6 overall), and his win total this season has upped his career total to 82, good for ninth place on the program's all-time ladder, just one shy of tying Brett Kaplan (1997-2001) for eighth place.  In addition to his singles prowess, Mosetick has teamed with freshman Jonathan Jemison to amass an impressive 10-3 dual ledger at No. 2 doubles.   Jemison has done his part to contribute to a stout singles lineup, fashioning an overall mark of 19-4, including a 10-2 performance at the No. 2 spot.  Junior Aman Manji and freshman Adrien Bouchet have combined for a 21-8 spring record with Bouchet standing 11-5 (9-3 at No. 4) and Manji 10-3 (9-2 at No. 3).

Johns Hopkins, ranked 21st nationally and No. 4 in the Atlantic South Region, claims a 9-3 won-lost mark.  The Blue Jays have won four of their last five outings and are coming off a 9-0 drubbing of Franklin and Marshall on Tuesday.

Mary Washington holds down the No. 27 position nationally and is ninth in the Atlantic South Region.  UMW owns a 15-8 mark and is looking to get back into the win column after suffering a 7-2 setback to No. 7 Carnegie Mellon this past Sunday.
