Rafe Mosetick Named UAA Men's Tennis Co-Player Of The Week

Emory senior Rafe Mosetick (Hinsdale, IL) has been named the University Athletic Association Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week after helping the No. 1-ranked Eagles to three South Region wins.  It is the fifth time during the 2015-16 season and seventh time in his career that he has garnered the award.  Mosetick shares this week's recognition with CJ Krimbill of Case Western Reserve.

Mosetick, the No. 2-ranked singles player in D-III,  went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 in doubles play in helping Emory boost its record to 16-3 (14-0 in D-III).

Mosetick, along with freshman Jonathan Jemison, notched a victory at No. 1 doubles in a 9-0 triumph over Oglethorpe, bettering the Stormy Petrels' tandem of C.J. Antonio and Rhys Richardson, 8-3.

In singles, Mosetick topped Mike Buxbaum (#9-ranked singles player) of Johns Hopkins, 6-4, 7-6, which followed a doubles victory that he and Jemison posted over Emerson Walsh and Nicholas Garcia, 8-4.  Emory topped the No. 21 Blue Jays by a 7-2 margin.

In a 9-0 whitewash over No. 27 Mary Washington, Mosetick upped his singles slate to 20-6 (12-5 spring) with a 6-2, 6-1, outcome over Brandon Griffin.  Earlier in the contest, Mosetick and Jemison rolled to an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, their 13th victory in 16 decisions this season.

After hosting Washington and Lee on Tuesday (Apr. 19), the Eagles return to action on Thursday (Apr. 21) when they battle New York University in the quarterfinals of the UAA Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
