UAA CHAMPS!! -- Emory Men's Tennis Beats Wash  U In Finals Of Conference Championships

The Emory men's tennis team defended its University Athletic Association Championship on Saturday, defeating Washington University in the finals of the conference title match.   The No. 1-ranked Eagles captured their seventh straight match and raised their overall record to 20-3 following a 6-3 triumph over the No. 7 Bears.  

Emory trailed by a 2-1 margin following doubles play, with the No. 2 team of senior Rafe Mosetick and freshman Jonathan Jemison accounting for the team's point, upping their season record to 17-3 overall.  

The Eagles clawed back in singles, capturing five of the six matches.  Mosetick knotted the match score following his 6-3, 6-1, triumph at No. 1 over John Carswell, his 24th victory in 30 decisions this year. Freshman Adrien Bouchet gave Emory the lead for good when he topped Jeremy Bush at No. 4, 6-0, 6-3, raising his season mark to 21-7.  Following Jemison's win at No. 2, junior Aman Manji came through with the clinching point at three singles, with his 7-5, 6-3 outcome over Tyler Kratky his seventh straight triumph, and his 19th successful decision in 24 contests this year.  Freshman Andrew Harrington recorded the other singles point, winning a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, battle over Jake Klein at No. 6.

Saturday's championship performance represented the 25th time in its 29 appearances that Emory had won the league crown.
