Rafe Mosetick Drops Quarterfinals Singles Match At NCAA D-III Championships

Emory senior Rafe Mosetick closed out his college career on Friday morning as he came out on the short end of a quarterfinal-round match in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship. Zachary Hewlin of Whitman advanced to the semifinals after rallying for a 0-6, 6-3, 6-1, decision over Mosetick who finished the season with a 27-8 won-lost slate.  The Championships are being conducted at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Mosetick, who earned All-America honors in the fall after the winning the ITA South Region Championships, and in the spring by virtue of both his top-three seed in the Singles Championship and his two-opening round wins, registered a career record of 91-29, with his victory total tying for fifth place on the Eagles' all-time chart.

Sophomore Scott Rubinstein and freshman James Spaulding will compete in the quarterfinals of the Doubles Championship Friday afternoon against Palmer Campbell and Hamid Derbani of Middlebury, with that contest slated for a 3:00 pm start.
