Jemison & Bouchet Earn UAA Men's Tennis Honors

Seniors Jonathan Jemison and Adrien Bouchet have been  selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Tennis Co-Athletes of the Week following their performances at the ITA South Region Championships. It is the eighth time in Jemison's career that he has been recognized for the award, while Bouchet has now been honored on three occasions. The ITA South Region Championships were conducted at the Rome Tennis Center and hosted by Berry College.

Jemison brought home a couple of titles over the weekend, defending his singles crown as the No. 1 seed in the 63-player field.  He rattled off five wins en route to the first-place effort, defeating Ritwik Chatterjee of Rhodes College, 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals and then posting a 6-3, 6-0, triumph over freshman teammate Andrew Esses in the finals.

Jemison then teamed up with Bouchet to win the doubles championship. The pair played their way to five wins en route to the No. 1 spot, topping teammates James Spaulding and Hayden Cassone, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, in the final. It was the second straight season that Bouchet had been part of a doubles title. In singles action, Bouchet won his first four matches and advanced to the semi-final round.

Jemison's effort in singles moved him into a 13th-place tie on the program's all-time chart with 78 wins, while he jumped into fifth place with 83 career doubles victories.  Bouchet ranks 27th on the Eagles' career chart with 60 singles wins and is deadlocked for the No. 28 position with 54 doubles triumphs.
