Men's Tennis Falls to CMS in ITA Indoors Consolation Round

The Emory University men's tennis team lost to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the consolation round Saturday morning at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club in Mayfield, OH. 

The Stags advance in the consolation bracket following the 7-2 victory to take on the winner of Brandeis or Gustavus Adolphus while the Eagles will oppose the loser in the seventh place match on Sunday. 

CMS claimed the first six matches in the morning to clinch the win including a doubles sweep. Seniors Andrew Esses and Sahil Raina dropped an 8-0 decision at first doubles before sophomores Nolan Shah and Sujay Sharma fell 8-3 on court three. Senior Antonio Mora and sophomore Ryan Glanville battled into a tiebreaker on court two but ultimately fell 8-7 (5). 

In singles action, the Stags secured wins on courts four, five and six before Esses picked up Emory's first win of the day, earning the win at second singles. 

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps added a win over Mora at the first position to move in front 7-1. The match concluded with Shah on court three where he was a 7-6, 7-6 winner.
