Men's Tennis Wins Third Straight, Defeats San Diego Christian 5-0

The Emory University men's tennis team won its third straight match Friday afternoon, defeating San Diego Christian College 5-0 at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.

The Eagles opened the match in quick fashion with a sweep of doubles, doing so with a different combination of pairings. On court one, senior Andrew Esses and sophomore Nolan Shah picked up an 8-6 victory and on court two, senior Antonio Mora and junior Samuel Dean posted the 8-5 win. Senior Sahil Raina and sophomore Ryan Glanville rounded out the doubles wins, cruising to the 8-1 decision on court three.

Sophomore Brandon Cohen and graduate student Santiago Suarez sealed the victory in singles and the two programs played to a decision. Cohen and Suarez earned straight set wins with Cohen going 6-4, 6-2 on court five and Suarez winning easily 6-1, 6-2. At the conclusion of the match, the Eagles were leading as well on court one with Mora in front 7-6, 3-1.

Emory is back in action tomorrow with a meeting with Rhodes College. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the WoodPEC.
