Men's Tennis Posts Shutout over Our Lady of the Lake

The Emory University men's tennis team returned to the WoodPEC courts Sunday afternoon and earned a 9-0 win over NAIA's Our Lady of the Lake.

An all-around convincing win helped the Eagles pick up their third straight win, moving to 6-1 while the Saints dropped to 10-11-1.

In doubles, graduate student Charlie James and junior Ryan Glanville continued their winning ways, moving to 7-0 in the spring with an 8-4 win on one. On court two, freshmen tandem Dean Kamenev and John Lasanajak rallied for the 8-5 decision and on court three, senior Samuel Dean and junior Brandon Cohen coasted to an 8-2 result.

In singles, the Eagles earned straight set wins in five of the six matches to conclude the shutout. Kamenev was a 6-3, 6-2 winner in the top spot, followed by a 6-4, 6-1 from Cohen at the second position and a 6-1, 6-1 victory by sophomore Emilio Van Cotthem on court three. Other straight set winners were freshman Eshaan Dani (7-5, 6-3) and Lasanjak (6-3, 7-6) at five and six while senior William Coupe rounded out the Emory winners with his 6-4, 3-5, 10-4 win at the fourth position.

Emory now heads west during spring break, taking on Azusa Pacific on Thursday before taking part in the Stag-Hen Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
