Shah and Kamenev Advance to ITA Cup Doubles Semifinals; Kamenev Advances to Singles Semifinals

Sophomore Dean Kamenev and senior Nolan Shah continued representing Emory's men's tennis team at the ITA Cup on Friday. After Kamenev picked up a win in the singles draw and the duo teamed up for a win in the doubles portion of the day, they will both move on to Day Three of the ITA Cup.

Kamenev opened the day for the Eagles in singles play against swept Concordia's Joshua Bode in two sets (7-5, 6-4). The sophomore has yet to lose a set in singles play in his first appearance at the ITA Cup. He is set to take on Williams College's Matthew Kandel in the semifinals tomorrow.

Despite a weather delay pushing the match back to late Friday evening, Shah and Kamenev came out on top to move on to Day Three. The tandem lost the first set but rebounded to dominate the second set and win the tiebreaker (4-6, 6-1, 10-6). The two will now play for a shot to reach the Doubles Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Kamenev will get things started at 12:00 PM with his singles semifinals match before he joins Shah at 2:30 PM for their doubles match.
