The No. 6 ranked Emory men's tennis team played its first match of the spring on Friday morning, taking on SCAD-Atlanta on the indoor courts at the Woodruff P.E. Center. Despite a few close matches with the Bees in the doubles portion of the competition, the Eagles took the match by a score of 8-1.

The match opened with doubles play, with seniors Nolan Shah and Samuel Dean opening the day with a dominating 6-0 win over SCAD's Bojarski and Woodman in the No. 2 doubles slot. The No. 3 doubles team of freshman Christian Liew and senior Brandon Cohen also won their match in a close 8-6 finish.

The No. 1 doubles match was a back-and-forth struggle between Emory's duo of senior Ryan Glanville and sophomore Dean Kamenev against SCAD's Martinez and Chouikha. The Bees started the match hot, winning the first couple of sets. Yet, Kamenev and Glanville stormed back to win the match 8-7.

The Eagles won five of six matches in the singles portion of the day, with the top five in the lineup pulling out wins.
