The Emory University track and field team turned in a strong
all-around performance at the Clemson Tiger Tune-Up on Saturday,
the team’s final meet before the 2011 University Athletic
Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Emory freshman Mike Moserowitz finished fifth in
the long jump with a career-best distance of 6.72 meters, the
second-best mark by an Eagle this season. Emory also received
top-10 finishes on the men’s side from Xavier
Fowler in the triple jump (fifth, 13.38 meters),
Tony Lombardo in the pole vault (sixth, 4.50
meters), Ben Euwer in the shot put (seventh, 13.16
meters), Everett Bryant in the 60-meter hurdles
(eighth in the finals, 8.47 seconds in the prelims),
Cameron Edwards in the 800-meter run (ninth,
1:59.63), Jason Campbell in the 400-meter run
(ninth, 51.80 seconds), and Nathan Gordon in the
3,000-meter run (10th, 9:15.07).
For the Emory women, top finishers included Jasmine
McCullough in the both the 60-meter dash (16th,
8.14 seconds) and 200-meter dash (20th, 27.05 seconds),
Alisha Reynolds in the 400-meter run
(15th, 1:01.52), Emily Caesar in the
800-meter run (15th, 2:26.45), Sabrina
Jeppsson in the mile run (14th, 5:28.79),
Jennifer Feinberg in the 3,000-meter run
(11:27.73), Morgan Monroe in the 60-meter hurdles
(19th, 9.71 seconds), Melissa Notis in
the high jump (7th, 1.50 meters), and Kadijah
Ameen in the long jump (16th, 4.66 meters) and
triple jump (10th, 9.93 meters).
Emory will now turn its focus to the UAA Championships,
set for next Saturday and Sunday at the University of Chicago.
