Track & Field Changes Plans; Heads to Louisville to Prep for NCAAs

The Emory University Track and Field team has altered its plans for competition this weekend, and will now send the members of the squad still competing to the Cardinal Twilight in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted by the University of Louisville on Friday, May 16th.

Running events are slated for a 4:00 PM start on Friday.  Fans can track the live results from the meet at http://www.gocards.com/livestats/m-track/14cardinaltwilight/index.htm.

Friday's meet will be the final chance for the Eagles to improve on their qualifying times for the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, with times due to the NCAA by midnight on Friday.  The top-22 individual women and 20 individual men in each event will be accepted to the meet, while the top-16 relays gender will receive entry to the NCAA Championship field.

Athletes scheduled to compete at the meet for the Emory women include senior Meredith Lorch in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior Electra Korn in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, junior Debora Adjibaba in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, junior Stephanie Crane and sophomore Julie Williamson in the 800-meter run, senior Morgan Monroe in the 100-meter hurdles and the women's 4x100-meter relay team of freshman Harley Barrera, Korn, Monroe and Adjibaba.

Also in action will be the men's 4x400-meter relay team of junior Zachary Rosenberg, sophomore Adam Rabushka, sophomore Maxwell Hoberman and junior Gui Silva, who came just four-hundredths of a second away from breaking the school record at last week's Ron Althoff Invitational.

The Eagles were originally slated to compete at both the Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois and the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, but adjusted the schedule to give the squad the best chance to register NCAA qualifying marks.

Results and a recap from the meet will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com following the completion of competition on Friday night.
