Men's Track & Field Finish Third at Tiger Indoor Invitational

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team collected four event victories on Saturday afternoon to finish third in the team standings with 107 points at the Tiger Indoor Invitational at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. The Eagles' 107 points trailed only Mississippi College's 164 and Reinhardt's 131 at the meet.

One day after notching the event win at the Carolina Challenge, freshman Brett Henshey returned to the high jump, posting a winning mark of 2.00m to lead the Emory field performers. Henshey was one of three top-three efforts for the Eagles on Saturday with classmate Yuri Brunner (3.65m) earning a second place showing in the pole vault and senior Zachary Lembersky placing third in the weight throw at 13.10m.

To go along with Henshey's win in the high jump, the Eagles added three wins by Matthews on the track with sophomore Matthew Dillon winning the mile at 4:30.94, freshman Matthew White taking the 800m Run at 2:05.15 and sophomore Matthew Burke claiming the 3000m Run at 9:10.47.

Freshmen Lucas Werner and Jacob Solomon earned third places in the sprint events with Werner posting a time of 8.40 in the finals of the 55m Hurdles and Solomon running a 6.64 in the 55m Dash finals. In the 3000m Run, sophomore Egan Kattenberg was second at 9:11.78 and in the mile, freshman Spencer Moore took silver at 4:33.62.

The 4x400m Relay B team of sophomore Zion Kidd and freshmen Anderson Shew, Graham Scott and Jason Berger rounded out the meet, registering a third place effort with a time of 3:38.69.

Emory will return to the Birmingham Crossplex next weekend for the Samford Open.
