Kenya Sei Breaks Hammer Throw Record at Life Last Chance Meet

The Emory University track and field teams sent a large contingent of athletes to Life University Friday afternoon in the first of two scheduled last chance meets to close out the regular season.

Kenya Sei shined for the Eagles as he recorded a pair of season best marks including a new school record in the hammer throw. He posted a distance of 53.92m which topped the previous school record of 52.74 set by Ben Kim in 2001. Later at the meet, Sei turned in a season-best effort in the discus as he recorded a throw of 40.45m.

The Emory men’s team saw season best performances registered in two additional events as Graham Scott ran a 59.19 in the 400m Hurdles and in the 4x100m Relay, the team of JonCarlo Migaly, Liam Fost, Jacob Solomon and Thomas Davis ran a 42.10.

For the women’s team, the Eagles saw three season best marks turned in by Amaya Martin in the finals of the 100m Hurdles, 15.50, Alex Devaux in the hammer throw with her mark of 46.28m and by Lauren Musachia in the high jump at 1.50m.
