The Emory University indoor track & field team sent a small contingent to compete in its final meet of the regular season at the U of SC Open in Columbia, SC on Friday.

Graduate student Nyjah Willis tied for the program record in the weight throw hitting a distance of 6.23m to place fourth at the meet. Willis tied Alex Devaux's record which was set at last season's UAA Championships.

Junior Kenya Sei also competed in the weight throw where he landed a distance of 15.35m marking his fifth appearance on the Eagles top ten weight throw distances in program history.

Competing on the track, Sophomore Jackson Price registered a time of 7.15m in the 60m dash while also hitting a time of 51.04 seconds in the 400m dash. Junior Dawit Dean, also competing in the 400m dash, crossed the finish line in a time of 49.46 seconds to finish in ninth at the meet. 

The Eagles are back in action next weekend for the UAA Indoor Championships in Waltham, MA on Saturday and Sunday. Both the men's and women's teams are coming off of a fourth place finish at the 2022 UAA Indoor Championships.
