Brandstadter and Greene Earn UAA Top End-of-Season Honors

The Emory University indoor track and field program had two student-athletes named for two of the most prestigious University Athletic Association postseason awards as announced by the league office on Monday. Sophomore Henry Brandstadter was awarded the UAA Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer while freshman Graham Greene earned the UAA Men's Rookie of the Year.

Brandstadter earns the Men's Most Outstanding Performer honor for the second consecutive season and becomes the 18th Eagle to earn the award and the fourth Eagle to earn the award two seasons in a row. Greene becomes the seventh Eagle to take home the UAA Men's Rookie of the Year award and is the third consecutive winner for Emory after Brandstadter and teammate Jackson Price won the award the previous two seasons.

Brandstadter won the award by virtue of his performance at the UAA Indoor Championships where he took home a first place finish in the high jump and long jump. In the high jump, he finished the event with a 1.98m mark garnering All-UAA honors with his first place finish. Brandstadter's big win came in the long jump finishing first with a distance of 7.47m. His mark broke both the Emory program record and the UAA Championship record and qualified him for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Brandstadter has been a force for the Eagles this season competing in both track and field events. Earlier this season, he was a part of the 4x200m relay team which ran a 1:29.92 to break the program record at the Emory Crossplex Showdown and also competed in the high jump with a height of 1.90m.

Greene also garnered his award by virtue of his performance at the UAA Indoor Championships. He started the meet with a second place mark in the 400m prelims with a time of 49.38 seconds before cutting his time down by a second in the finals. Greene took a first place finish in the event setting a personal record with a time of 48.36 earning All-UAA honors. He was also a part of the 4x400m relay team which took first place with a UAA record breaking time of 3:17.46.

His time of 48.36 seconds at the UAA Championships ranks him 30th in all of Division III so far this season. Greene also ranks 106th in the Division with his time of 22.06 in the 200m.

The Eagles will conclude the indoor season competing at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships beginning Friday, March 8.
