Graduate Student Nikki Boon and sophomore Henry Brandstadter have earned South Region Athlete of the Year honors while head coach Linh Nguyen took home South Region Coach of the Year Honors as announced Wednesday afternoon by the USTFCCCA organization. Assistant Coach Jessica Fritsche also earned Assistant Coach of the Year for the women.

Boon becomes the fourth women's field athlete to receive the indoor honor, the first since Laura Sheckter in 2020. Brandstadter earns the Athlete of the Year honor for a field event and is the only Eagle to hold the honor. Nguyen won Coach of the Year for both men's and women's track and field, the second season in a row while Fritsche is the fourth assistant coach to take home the award on the women's side, the first since Aaron Campbell in 2013.

Boon has made a name for herself in her first season at Emory taking a first place finish at the UAA Championships in the long jump with a distance of 5.86m. Her mark broke the program record and garnered her first All-UAA honors. She also holds the program record in the pentathlon with 3673 points earlier this season to rank second in Division III.

Brandstadter continues to shine after his historic freshman season earning a bid to the NCAA Indoor Championships in the long jump. Earlier this season, Brandstadter set the program record and the UAA Championship record in the long jump with a distance of 7.47m ranking him third in the division this season. He also took first in the high jump at the UAA Championships with a height of 1.98m garnering All-UAA honors.

Under Nguyen and Fritsche's leadership this season, Brandstadter earned the UAA Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer for the second season in a row. The Eagles saw 14 bids to the NCAA Indoor Championships and saw 22 individuals and four relays receive USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
