Emory University track and field senior Kenya Sei broke the program record in the hammer throw at the Life University Last Chance meet last week in Carrollton, Georgia.

Sei took home a second place finish in the event throwing a 58.87m mark breaking his previous school record of 57.60m he set at the Emory Spring Break Classic.

He also competed in the discus event finishing fourth with a distance of 43.89m.

The Eagles will travel to the NCAA Outdoor Championships starting on Thursday, May 23 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
