Aaron Campbell was appointed as assistant coach for the Emory track and field program in August of 2012. His primary responsibilities are working with the sprints, horizontal jumps, hurdlers and relays.

During the 2016 season, Campbell's athletes posted outstanding results under his tutelage with them combining for one national championship, four All-America finishes and seven UAA titles. With Campbell's guidance, sophomore Daniel Pietsch won Emory's first ever outdoor national championship in a running event in the 400m Dash while the women's 4x400m finished second at the NCAA Indoor Championship meet, the highest finish ever by an Eagles relay team.

In his third season with the program, he helped the men's outdoor team claim their first UAA championship since 2004 and was named as part of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.

Campbell's athletes combined to set program records in eight individual events and one relay during the 2013-14 season, while claiming all-America finishes in seven events during the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships.  The women's team tied for 23rd at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and tied for 39th at the Outdoor Championship meet.

During his first season on the team in 2012-13, Campbell helped lead the Emory women to a pair of conference team championships, in addition to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.  Under his tutelage, Emory women claimed all-America honors in eight different events in 2013, while the men’s team saw individuals win the indoor conference Most Outstanding Performer award and claim four UAA championships.

Campbell joined the Eagles’ program after spending the 2011-12 season as a volunteer coach at Duke University.  While with the Blue Devils, he worked with the sprinters, hurdlers and relays while assisting in the development of multi-event athletes.  During his stint at Duke, he helped mentor one NCAA indoor champion, a three-time All-American, two Atlantic Coast Conference champions and athletes who set six school records.

Prior to Duke, Campbell served as a volunteer coach at the University Vermont during the 2010-11 campaign.  At his alma mater, he oversaw the Catamounts’ sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers.  He also assisted with the team’s strength and conditioning programs.

A native of Bend, Ore., Campbell was a five-time All-New England honoree and three-time America East sprint champion during his three seasons at the University of Vermont. He was also a two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier, in addition to earning All-IC4A distinction twice in his career. As a member of the Catamounts' sprint corps, Campbell established five program records and was nationally-ranked in the 100m during his junior season.

Prior to competing at Vermont, Campbell spent one season as a member of the University of Oregon's track and field program, helping the Ducks capture the 2007 Pac-10 title outdoors.

Campbell is certified USATF Level I.

He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history.
