2006 Athletes Of The Week

(Nov. 12) -- Freshman Tommy Fyffe (Cincinnati, OH) was Emory's top runner at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional (Nov. 11), posting a fourth-place finish out of 152 runners. Fyffe crossed the line in a time of 26:11.2 over the 8K course and in the process earned an at-large bid to compete at the NCAA Championships which will be held Nov. 18. Fyffe has been the Eagles' top performer in two meets this season.


(Oct. 30) -- Freshman Tommy Fyffe (Cincinnati, OH) was Emory's top performer at the 20th Annual University Athletic Association Cross Country Championships held on Oct. 28. Fyffe came in 25th out of 78 runners with an 8K time of 26:32.16. It was his fourth meet of the season and the first time that he had paced the Emory squad.


(Oct. 9) -- Junior Bryan Forsyth (Franklin, TN) helped Emory to a fourth-place finish out of 13 teams at the Georgia State Invitational this past weekend.  Forsyth was the top Emory performer and came in second out of 104 entrants, covering the 8K course in a season-best time of 26:32.3. 


(Oct. 2) -- Freshman Charles Meade helped Emory to a second-place finish out of 12 teams at the Georgia Collegiate Championships this past weekend in Macon, Georgia. Meade was the top Emory performer and came in second out of 111 entrants, covering the 8K course in a season-best time of 27:21.0.  He led an Emory contingent that featured three runners who finished among the top 20 finishers.


(Sept. 25) -- Junior Michael Rothbart (Livingston, NJ) helped Emory to a first-place finish in the Men's Seeded Invitational of the Great American Cross Festival this past weekend at Hoover, Alabama.  Rothbart posted a sixth-place finish out of 109 competitors and finished the 8K course in a time of 28:07.7.  Rothbart spearheaded a strong Emory contingent that featured four runners finishing among the top 10. 


(Sept. 18) -- Senior Kile Krol was Emory's top finisher at the Crimson Classic this past weekend and helped the Eagles to a fifth-place finish out of 15 teams.  Krol finished 26th out of 120 entrants with a time of 26:40.85 over the 8K course.  It was Krol's first competition of the season.
