Senior Tommy Fyffe turned in a sterling effort in keying the
Eagles to a first-place performance out of seven teams at the
Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational. Despite contending
with muddy and sloppy conditions, Fyffe led the team and the
74-runner field with a personal-best 8K time of 24:34, which also
represents the second-fastest 8k time on record in school
history.
It is the second time this year that Fyffe has finished first in a
competition as he crossed the finish line in the top spot at the
Sewanee Invitational (Sept. 2).
