Results
The Emory University men's cross country team took home fifth place
out of 11 teams on Saturday at the 5th Annual
Jacksonville State University Foothills Invitational.
The Eagles finished with 158 points. Claiming the top spot
was West Alabama with 44 points while Clayton State claimed
runner-up status with 51 points. Host Jacksonville State
totaled 74 points, good for the No. 3 position and Morehouse
College was fourth with 103 points.
Junior Geraint Davies was the team’s top performer, posting
an 8k time of 29:20.9 that ranked 32nd in the 89-runner
field. Senior Andrew Sullivan was the second Emory runner to
cross the finish line with his mark of 29:33.6 placing him
35th. Nathan Gordon (29:48.8, 39th),
Rick Southard (29:51.7, 41st) and Ishan Dey (29:56.7)
rounded out the team’s scorers.
Emory returns to action on Friday, October 15, when it competes at
the Royal Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, NC.
