The Emory University men's cross country team took home fifth place out of 11 teams on Saturday at the 5^th Annual Jacksonville State University Foothills Invitational.

The Eagles finished with 158 points.  Claiming the top spot was West Alabama with 44 points while Clayton State claimed runner-up status with 51 points.  Host Jacksonville State totaled 74 points, good for the No. 3 position and Morehouse College was fourth with 103 points.

Junior Geraint Davies was the team’s top performer, posting an 8k time of 29:20.9 that ranked 32^nd in the 89-runner field.  Senior Andrew Sullivan was the second Emory runner to cross the finish line with his mark of 29:33.6 placing him 35^th.  Nathan Gordon (29:48.8, 39^th), Rick Southard (29:51.7, 41^st) and Ishan Dey (29:56.7) rounded out the team’s scorers.

Emory returns to action on Friday, October 15, when it competes at the Royal Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, NC.
