UAA Cross Country Championships Web Site

The Emory University men's and women's country teams return to action on Saturday (Oct. 29) when they compete at the 25^th Annual University Athletic Association Cross Country Championships.  The competition will be held at Montrose Harbor and hosted by the University of Chicago.  The women's 6K race begins at 10:30 am (CDT), and will be followed by the men's 8k competition at 11:30 am.

The Emory women's team is ranked 19^th nationally and one of a five league teams that hold down spots among the nation's top 35.  Defending league champion Washington University is tabbed as the No. 2 squad in D-III with Emory the next ranked conference program. Other teams in the national poll include New York University (#26), Chicago (#33) and Case Western (#35).  Last year, the Eagles posted a fifth-place finish with Tess Gallegos and the graduated Natalie Fenn both earning Second Team All-UAA honors and coming in eighth and 14^th overall, respectively.

The UAA boasts four men's teams among the top 35 in the nation, with three of those squads among the top 15. Defending champ Wash U. is No. 3 while Chicago holds down the No. 10 slot.  Rounding out the ranked teams are NYU (#15) and Rochester (#27).   Emory, ranked No. 1 in South/Southeast Region, is looking to move up the ladder after recording an eighth-place finish in 2010.
