Men’s Results
The Emory men’s cross country team was represented at the
Southeast Classic earlier today with the squad posting a
10th-place finish out of 34 squads. Serving as the
host of the meet was Berry College.
With the Eagles’ main contingent of runners on the sidelines
in anticipation of next weekend’s UAA Championships, the team
finished with 291 points. Taking home first place was Bryan
College with 65 points. Savannah College of Arts and Design
was runner-up with 129 points while Cumberland College took home
third place (139 pts.).
Senior Nathan Gordon paced the Emory pack, covering the 8k course
in a time of 26:45, good for 42nd place out of 309
runners. Freshmen Hirsh Giakwad (26:58) and Brian Diener
(27:02) were the next two Eagles to cross the finish line, placing
56th- and 59th overall,
respectively. Rounding out Emory’s scorers were
sophomore Diego Flores Alvarez, whose time of 27:14 ranked
66th overall, and junior Scott Campbell who turned in a
74th-place showing with an effort of 27:19.
